and come back to the main chance here, the issue is whether mr. romney, governor romney is going to inject foreign policy leadership into wednesday's debate. there's enormous speculation, some of it fueled by his op-ed piece in "the wall street journal" that blasted the president. i know the debate is about the economy, but it's also about leadership, do you reckon governor romney will put foreign policy into that debate. >> all this month you're going to have a contrast on the economy and foreign policy. what chairman o'ryan said is the unraveling of the obama foreign policy. the set backs, the killing in the middle east of an american ambassador. a break in our relationship with our most important ally in the region, and in soyria, over 30,000 people are dead. president obama thinks strength is provocative and history teaches us that weak is provocative. and we're weak overseas as we have seen our defense capabilities decrease and as the president hasn't stood up, with resolution for our values. so, yes, leadership is the overriding issue and it plays both foreign policy and on the econo

that would help mitt romney. >> you would think it is. it probably does to an extent. one of the problems mr. romney has is that voters just don't like him very much. we asked voters if they have a favorable, unfavorable of the president. they have a net unfavorable of the president and unfavorable for mitt romney. >> pollsters have been under fire from the right. >> you know it's a piece of garbage. i believe it's head to head in new hampshire. i've seen enough other polls to tell you that is a piece of garbage. >> calling it garbage. governor sununu wasn't talking about one of your polls, but one in new hampshire. how do you fight against kill the messenger? is this different than the past? >> it's not all that different. quinnipiac and most major polls do not weight their polls for party i.d. if someone passes our voter screen, they pass our likely voter. we ask if they are a democrat, republican or independent. voter identification and party identification is a changing characteristic. in 2010, democrats were complaining about the polls because party i.d. figures were republican. in ohio

. just before the show tasta stard w we had breaking news. mr. romney how says in addition to his 20% across the board tax cuts he would help pay for that by capping tax deductions at $17,000 across the board. i want to give you a shot to comment. >> i find it strange larry, that in this moment before the debate that we are getting a revisited mathematics. it was obvious that it didn't just add up. so what they are going to do is eat into the mortgage deduction for middle class people. you know what that does for the citizens in the districts? >> nothing. >> you would rather let them keep their deductions? >> that is not one of them. the mortgage deduction is critical to the lifeline in the state of new jersey >> last one, what would you cap? can you give me one. >> in terms of second homes, property which is tremendous value i think these are things that we can look at. >> languahang on. next up our candidates are going to tackle the movement vexing issues of the election. you are not going to want to miss what they had to say. heading to a flight of fund-raisers. the president and mr. romney said to face often less than one week for the first presidential debate. both campaigns are downplaying the candid wiping of their opponents. how will these low expectations play out? with more on this, joined by ed rollins, republican strategist top boxes contributor. likewise, doing great, especially looking forward to this conversation. what is the strategy? >> you cannot play down the debate. the biggest thing left in his campaign. if you don't do well it does not matter whether you said you're not going to do well. you discord against. traditionally presidents don't do as well in debates. nobody basically stands up and makes points back-and-forth. sometimes they're hard to get going. this president is a good debater. my sense is he will be on his best. romney obviously became a very good debater. style versus substance. charismatic, a great debater. romney, livermore. also very strong in a primary debate, as you just alluded to, especially against gingrich. >> i'm sure fully ready to go push and shove. i hope the tal

: and both of you-- time out ladies, let me put this question out to both of you. since mr. romney is expected to attack the president on economy, and foreign policy and so far we have not seen what he will do for a second term. so, what do you anticipate the president will have to do, jehmu, in order to get ahead of this foreign policy gap that's going on right now in the wake of the death of four great americans. i don't know, kelly, i disagree with you. we haven't seen from president obama what his next four years would be, we have not seen anything from governor romney on what his business-- his presidency would look like, all he's done is attack the-- >> during the debate. >> what he will do during the debate i think is remind the american people of his record on counterterrorism, and that is not something that governor romney is going to be able to poke any holes in, and i think he will also remind the american people of when it comes to the economy, that it's the turn around is going to take time. >> oh. >> and you've seen president clinton talk about why it took eight years
